Space-Track Access

Satcat can ingest Space-Track CDMs for conjunction events and perform daily synchronization of Space-Track organization object metadata used to keep RSO context current (for example, maneuverability and other Space-Track-provided attributes).

Prerequisites

Space-Track access requires an active Space-Track.org account covered by an SSA Sharing Agreement and the ability to manage third-party CDM notifications in Space-Track. Space-Track restricts this action to the Primary Representative account. A Satcat Admin role is required to complete any corresponding Satcat-side configuration and verification.

Granting Access

Access is granted in two places, and Kayhan confirms both before synchronization starts.

Space-Track access for Satcat is granted by adding Kayhan's notification email address in the Space-Track user management interface. In Space-Track:

  1. Sign in to Space-Track.org using the Primary Representative account.
  2. Navigate to Manage > Users.
  3. Add spacetrack@kayhan.space in the field used for CDM notifications.
  4. Do not select Receive CDM Email Alerts.
  5. Click Save.

Space-Track operator folder access is granted by the operator through USSF Customer Service. The operator must email SPOC.SPACE.CustomerService@spaceforce.mil and request that spacetrack@kayhan.space be granted access to the operator's Space-Track operator folder.

Confirming Access

Notify Kayhan Support at support@kayhan.space once either grant is in place. Access is confirmed on the Kayhan side before synchronization begins, and ephemeris is sent to the uploads folder only after the operator folder grant is confirmed.

Data Sync Behavior

After Space-Track access is granted, Satcat begins daily synchronization of Space-Track organization object metadata and ingests Space-Track CDMs into Satcat conjunction event pages.

Space-Track organization object metadata includes NORAD catalog ID, object name, object status, maneuverability, and operator hard body radius (HBR). When a Space-Track object can be matched to an RSO in Satcat, Satcat uses the retrieved metadata to update the corresponding RSO fields used by Satcat Operations.

CDM synchronization starts once access is granted. CDMs issued before that are not ingested through this integration, so historical searches in Satcat reach back only as far as the grant.

Troubleshooting

If RSO metadata updates or CDMs are not appearing, re-check the steps in Link the Account, then confirm the Space-Track account is active and in good standing. If the issue persists, contact support@kayhan.space and include the Space-Track organization name.
