Catalog Data

Catalog data is the shared ephemeris available across Satcat Operations for screening and coordination. Three catalogs are published here. Each lists every file's NORAD ID, filename, designation, context, and usable time span, and each file can be exported.

An organization's own uploads, its orbit determination results, and manual upload are covered in Asset Management.

Operational catalog​

The operational catalog aggregates ephemerides uploaded with an OPERATIONAL designation and public visibility. It updates continuously as operators upload and re-designate files, and a screening job can select it as the source of secondary ephemeris data.

Only the owning organization can download an ephemeris unless that file is designated public. To learn more, see Data Privacy.

Tasking catalog​

The tasking catalog lists predictive ephemeris rather than operational, in the same columns and with the same export. Ephemeris generated from sensor tasking is available here.

SP catalog​

The 18 SDS Special Perturbations (SP) catalog, updated daily and available for download. Access requires Satcat Operations Pro and an SSA Sharing Agreement.

SP ephemerides do not carry covariance by default. Where the secondary's covariance is missing, Pc is estimated from the primary's uncertainty alone and reported as Max Pc. To learn more, see Pc Methods.
