Satcat Operations
Satcat Operations enables satellite operators to perform conjunction assessment, execute collision avoidance maneuvers, and coordinate across the orbital environment. It provides structured workflows for risk monitoring, object screening, maneuver intent signaling, and scalable operations management.
This section documents how operators use the platform to support both routine operations and time-critical mitigation scenarios.
Core Workflows
Ephemeris Management
Operators upload current and planned ephemeris files with covariance to the Satcat Ephemeris Repository. Each file is tagged by context (e.g., nominal, maneuvering) and integrated into screening and conjunction workflows.
- Conjunction events are automatically updated when new ephemeris is uploaded
- Shared ephemeris data supports coordination and decision-making by other Satcat operators

Conjunction Events
Each identified close approach is represented as a conjunction event to consolidate risk metrics, organize CDM history, and report mitigation intent.
- Probability of collision (Pc), miss distance, and encounter geometry
- Trend analysis and comparative CDM risk metric overlays
- Risk classification and maneuver planning interface

Maneuver Intent and Coordination
Satcat infers operator intent from uploaded ephemeris and applies maneuver responsibility logic based on context metadata. These signals are shared through coordination tools and surfaced to relevant parties.
- Ephemeris uploads are tagged by designation and maneuver context
- Intent flags derived from event history and metadata values
- Responsibility rules follow Rules of the Road
- Contact Center lookup via Operator Directory
